“When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren” (Genesis 29:31).

There’s an interesting story once told about the grapes. When the grapes are grown, the wine-makers purposefully strain them out by depriving them water and giving them over abundance of sunshine. Now, the purpose for this process is to fade out the weak grapes; so that only the strongest and best survives. These are the grapes that make the finest wine. Genesis 29 gives an account of two women (Rachel and Leah) who had one thing in common: they were sisters, married to the same man (Jacob). But Jacob loved Rachel more than Leah because Rachel was more beautiful than Leah.

Jacob was married to both women but his eyes were on Rachel. I mean, imagine being in a relationship with someone; while their eyes are on somebody else. You try too hard to do everything right; but you can’t seem to please them. They even do their thing in front of you; as if you don’t exist. They even talk bad about you in your presence, as if you’re deaf. Somebody out-there knows what I’m talking about! Leah was the invisible woman; she was a victim of circumstance.

Now, the scripture says “When the Lord saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren” (Genesis 29:31). Rachel, who was beautiful of form and appearance, was infertile. She couldn’t have children. But Leah, who was unloved, was now productive. She could bear children. The scripture says “Now when Rachel saw that she bore Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister…” (Genesis 30:1). Now, the tables have turned! Leah has suddenly become the centre of attraction. Rachel who used to be admired by Leah because of her beauty; she’s now admiring Leah because she can bear children.

They might have mistreated or overlooked you; but hardly did they know that God has His eyes on you. God has seen your misery. He knows how long you have been unloved, rejected, over-looked, cast down, etc. Some said you’ll never amount to nothing, but I’m here to let you know that; God is bringing you to the forth front. Everyone who used to talk down on you, everyone who used to overlook you; will end-up begging for your signature. Just watch the space! Expect God to show up early in your life! Enjoy a fresh new beginning and have a very Blessed day.
